My Own Little Apartment In NYC for NYFW

New York is expensive, we all know that. Imagine going to New York for fun with friends for a weekend, it easily runs you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars into the ground, right!? I mean with all the eating, the transportation and especially the accommodations, that city sucks the money right from your piggy-bank. Now imagine what it must be like during New York Fashion Week when a hotel easily comes up to around $500 a night and flights, not that far behind (one way!). As you know, I did just return from New York Fashion Week and boy was I lucky. Lucky enough to discover Roomorama, an online site that helps you find apartments, condos, townhouses or, even igloo's anywhere you may be traveling in the world, for, here it is, super affordable pricing.

For the Spring/Summer 2012 season of New York Fashion Week shows, I went with Roomorama not because it was an official partner of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week but because I knew it was the most economic, and fashionably frugal thing to do. I found a wicked cool spot in the Lower East Side / Nolita neighboorhood, (kinda like Queen St. West to you Torontonians)! The place was spick and span, had a great kitchen, cool living room and a separate bedroom, so it was safe to say, I had enough space for my clothes! If you haven't got it yet, this is someones home who, a)Is not there at the moment, be it, on vacation, for work, or somewhere else or b) the person has multiple properties in the area and sublets them kinda like a hotel (but you gotta make your own room-service).

I had a great experience with my "host". The host is the individual who owns the place. I was welcomed into one of their many properties with arms wide open! Listen, no seriously, this obviously isn't the Park Plaza hotel but when reality hits you like a ton of bricks options like this are practical and affordable (at around $200 a night for a spot like this, last minute too!) - they work! Another plus from the Independence the keys to your own New York apartment gives you, courage, I took the subway alone and easily made my destinations (obviously with a little help here and there).

So to make a long story short, Roomorama is a quick, simple, affordable, easy and just plain SMART way to go when booking your accommodations for lets say, a girls weekend in NY, or a romantic getaway for 2 in Paris, France. Whatever it may be, Roomorama has got you covered.
