After much speculation amidst the fashion scene of who would be taking John Galliano's place as the new designer of the house of Dior the name was finally announced. Best part is, Azzedine Alaia, the requested designer turned it down!
Alaia, who told the Financial Times‘ Vanessa Friedman that the company offered him Galliano’s old gig, doesn’t want to be bothered with the minutiae of running a gigantic high-fashion company... Or is it because Alaia may not want any affiliation with such a now broken brand. Whatever it may be, Dior needs to get in the mix again! I don't even recall myself swooning over a menswear collection and a men's fashion week without a John Galliano show seems so empty!
